Choice vs choice
Each side-by-side uses a Zentein product and a popular or relevant product from another brand. Brand names are removed so the public labels, not marketing familiarity, lead the lesson. We do not claim to know another brand's exact recipe or process.
Source basis: Zentein Canadian label + a public U.S. comparison label, checked September 1, 2026.

Compare Zentein with the other brand. Each tile uses the same measure and the serving size listed on each product.
A lower or higher number is not automatically better. Serving size, your priorities and the ingredients used to reach the number all matter.

Make it personal
Pick up to three priorities to see how the products compare.
Sources. Public ingredient lists and Nutrition Facts/Supplement Facts panels checked against the product labels available on September 1, 2026.
Serving basis. Values use each label's listed serving unless the stat says otherwise. Different serving sizes are shown because they can change how a per-serving comparison reads.
Markets. Zentein values use current Canadian labels. Comparison products may use U.S. labels, so Daily Value percentages are not treated as country-to-country equivalents.
Limits. We use public labels and do not claim to know another brand's exact recipe, process or ingredient quantities. “Not listed” is not a laboratory result of zero. Products and labels can change. This page is label education, not medical advice, a product ranking or independent lab testing.
Zentein ingredient philosophy
See the named ingredients we use for sweetness, flavour, texture and colour, then compare the specific alternatives that often do those jobs in other packaged foods.
Sweetener philosophy
We choose sweet ingredients partly for the other work they do: holding a bar together, managing moisture, adding flavour or creating melt. Lower-sugar products often separate those jobs across several specialized ingredients.

How to read the difference: one ingredient can do several jobs, or a product can distribute those jobs across a sweetener, bulking agent, binder and humectant. Neither list length nor the word “natural” is a complete nutrition verdict.
Flavour philosophy
Our featured products lead with recognizable flavour-driving foods. Collective flavour terms can still be legitimate tools, but they tell you less about exactly what creates the taste.

Important nuance: Zentein chocolate sub-ingredients may still list natural vanilla or natural flavour. “Named-food first” describes our ingredient approach; it is not a claim that every nested component is a whole food.
Texture philosophy
Texture is a system: solids create structure, fats control melt, binders hold pieces together and moisture tools keep a product from becoming too dry or hard.

What this means in the bite: Zentein often asks a flavour-driving food, such as peanut butter, honey, oats or chocolate, to perform a texture job too. Specialized texture ingredients can be useful; we want their purpose to be easy to understand.
Colour philosophy
In the featured products, colour usually arrives with the food creating the flavour. Other products may use plant concentrates or dedicated artificial colours when a brighter, more exact and repeatable shade is the goal.
